ABOUT CARE for AFRICA
Founded in 2007 by Diana Butler and Dr Peter Hewitt, the Peter Hewitt Care for Africa Foundation was established to assist disadvantaged African communities and to provide an opportunity to enrich the lives of young Australians, enabling them to participate in programs that will greatly improve the health and wellbeing of many needy people in Africa.

The Foundation's work is focussed in and around the Tarime district, located in the Mara Region of Tanzania one of the world's poorest countries. Care for Africa's partner NGO is the Tarime Goodwill Foundation which is managed by Dr Hudson Winani - whose daughter Mojca - whilst working in the emergency department at the Launceston General Hospital - told Diana Butler and her colleagues, of her father's tireless work for the Tarime Community.
