Lacking access to tampons, pads, and even bathroom facilities; girls face an overwhelming barrier to their education—something we often take for granted.
For communities living in poverty, missing school due to menstruation isn’t just inconvenient; it’s a significant obstacle to breaking the cycle of poverty.
Thanks to a very generous offer from Dr. Daniel Tan and his wife Natalie, all donations to our Kit for Girls program will be matched up to $10,000!
This means your donation can have twice the impact. Double your contribution and help us provide vital menstrual kits for girls in need.

Local businessman and humanitarian, Dr Daniel Tan and his wife Natalie are parents of two young girls. They are deeply moved by the fact that many girls miss school simply because they don’t have access to menstrual products.
In Tarime, Tanzania, girls often stay home each month due to a lack of basic sanitary supplies and clean bathroom facilities.
This creates a significant barrier to their education—an obstacle that many of us take for granted.
For families living in poverty, missing school is not just an inconvenience; it perpetuates the cycle of poverty, making it harder for girls to break free and build a brighter future.

Recent statistics reveal a shocking truth about girls’ school attendance in Tanzania:
Girls miss up to 20% of school days each year compared to boys.
This dramatically impacts their chances of graduating.
Despite their passion for learning, managing their periods too often keeps these girls at home.
Every girl deserves the right to education, and no girl should be held back because of her period.
Kits for Girls, sewn by the Biswari Women’s Group
Care for Africa supports local women’s groups to sew reusable menstrual kits, called “Kits for Girls”. The kits are provided to school students with instructions on how to care for them.
Our Kits for Girls are so popular that we struggle to meet the demand.
We are there for girls like Ester so that she no longer has to miss school for days each month and so she can achieve her dreams of becoming a teacher one day.
With you by our side, we can get more girls like Ester to school, every day of the school calendar.
Will you help us provide kits for girls to young girls like Ester?
